
The Mayor of Zagreb Mr. Milan Bandić hosted a traditional reception for representatives of Diplomatic Corps accredited to the Republic of Croatia.
Thanking the guests for their cooperation and wishing them a successful year 2011, Mayor Bandić stated that Zagreb is increasingly recognized as a place rich in historical and cultural heritage and as a meeting place for Central Europe and the Mediterranean, also West and East.
- You probably noticed yourselves how much we are trying to shape Zagreb as a modern European metropolis, which is pleasant to live and work in and where you feel safe - the Mayor said, adding:
- We are happy that the river of tourists and business people are increasingly perceiving the city of Zagreb as one that has many opportunities in areas of economic investment, tourism potentials and also international sporting events and superior education.
Gratitude for benefits
On behalf of the Diplomatic Corps H.E. Msgr. Mario Cassari gave speech:
- We, who live in Zagreb, feel like we are the citizens of this beautiful city, despite cultural and geographical diversity from wich we are coming from. We, here present Ambassadors, and our staff, are thrilled with everything the city of Zagreb provides. At the same time we strive to contribute to the life of culture, modernization and progress of society. With gratitude for benefits related to the "diplomatic status" in order to protect our daily activities, we are also grateful for the loyal and open cooperation with you and all municipal institutions which facilitate our diplomatic service in this hospitable and generous country - concluded Msgr. Cassari.
