Modern Swedish films will be presented at the cinema Tuškanac between February 22 and March 4, in cooperation with the Croatian Film Clubs' Association and the Embassy of Sweden to Croatia. Eight films will be shown that were produced in the last five years, and all films will have subtitles in English and Croatian languages.
The first film to be shown in this program will be this year's candidate for Oscar, film Involuntary directed by Ruben Östlun, who is considered to be the most radical representative of modern Swedish cinematography.
In the form of a mosaic, the film outlines the group behavior through several different perspectives and demonstrates the power of the group over an individual and the extent to which this power can be destructive. The following films will be the awarded When Darkness Falls, than Sandor Slash Ida in which the main character is infatuated by the ballet. Ping-pongkingen is a story of a young fatty who canalizes his fears of growing up through table tennis, an excellent film by Teresa Fabik The Ketchup Effect will also be shown as well as the musical Kidz in da Hood, a film that won several awards and the praise of audience.
