International Festival of Wine & Culinary Art

6th Zagreb International Festival of Wine & Culinary Art will be held on the 25th and 26th of November 2011 at the Regent Esplanade Zagreb. The Festival will officially be opened on Friday, November 25th from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 pm, while on Saturday, November 26th it will be opened from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Here are informations about interesting workshops on wine and food, and contacts for reservations:

 


FRIDAY

Workshop name: Red Slavonia

Description: Beside Graševina, the most widely spread variety in Croatia, Slavonia also has a great potential in red wine varieties. Five winemakers will present red wines that they believe prove that Slavonia can produce an exceptional red wine, too. Wines for the workshop will be selected at a blind tasting organised by Graševina Croatica association ahead of the festival.

Description: For the first time in Croatia, one of the leading wineries with the Pomerol appellation comes from Bordeaux for an official tasting. Monique Monetepini, representing Château Clinet, will present the best vintages of the previous decade through her first, second and third wines. The winery will also present its plans for the presence in the Croatian market. After the tasting, there is a three-course dinner by The Regent Zagreb Hotel cook, Jeffrey J. Vella.

Description: After the welcoming drink - biska, ruda, medenica - a presentation of olive oil produced by OPG Montižel, this year's Mediterranean champion, and OPG Vodnjan sheep cheese with black pepper and walnuts, accompanied by home made lavender bread and the tasting of OPG Štefanić Malvasia. The participants will have an opportunity to enjoy Istrian fuži with white truffles and taste OPG Sinković Teran. At the end, we will serve jams, cakes and fruit juices.
