Gilbert & George first time in Croatia

Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb and British Council Croatia are proud to present a major solo exhibition by the world renowned artists Gilbert & George which will open on 10 June 2010 at the Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb in the presence of artists and run until September 12.  

The exhibition entitled the Jack Freak Pictures has been conceived by Gilbert & George especially for the Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb and it will be the first ever showing of their art in Croatia. According to Michael Bracewell, "the Jack Freak Pictures are among the most iconic, philosophically astute and visually violent works that Gilbert & George have ever created."
The opening of the exhibition will be accompanied by a series of public events, including talks with students and academic community, interviews and film screenings in the presence of artists and film directors (Tim Marlow with... Gilbert & George; Julian Cole: With Gilbert & George).

Tuesday, June 8 at 7 pm in the garden of the Academy of Fine Arts Zagreb, Ilica 85 will be public talk with artists Gilbert & George with British writer Michael Bracewell as moderator.
