Farewell to four ambassadors
A farewell reception for the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands H.E. Mrs. Catharina Maria Trooster, the Ambassador of Swiss Confereration H.E. Mr. Erich Pircher, the Ambassador of Turkey H.E. Mr. Umur Apaydin and the Ambassador of Norway H.E. Mr. Terje Hauge as held at the Apostolic Nunciature, July 6.
Although the Ambassador of Norway H.E. Mr. Tarje Hauge was already out of Croatia, he asked Apostolic Nuncio Mario Roberto Cassari, Doyen of the Diplomatic Corps to include him also on this farewell reception.
In his farewell speech Doyen of the Diplomatic Corps said:
"Dear Catharina Maria, Erich, Umur ad Terje, we have been able to note the deep esteem and the affection which you enjoy among the Diplomats accredited in Zagreb. Your Excellencies have shown a truly great quantity of human, political and cultural experiences. And so, it is evident how truly rich was not only your preparation to the Diplomatic Service, but as well your remarkable commitment, done with competence, as Ambassadors of your Countries to the Republic of Croatia. All of us have come to realize that. Your Curricula vitae can notice evidence of your professionalism to an elevated degree."
Ambassador Trooster was Chief of Mission in Zagreb since september 2006, and is preparing herself for the new experience in Japan; Ambassador Pircher was in Zagreb since November 2007, now returning home to Swiss; Ambassador Apaydin, in Zagreb since may 2008 as well is returning to Ankara; and Ambassador Hauge, in Zagreb since July 2008, is going back to Oslo.
They were all presented with the usual gift, crystal plate with all ambassadors signature.
