Croatian companies on the defense industry fair in Abu Dhabi

Actual security situation in North Africa, the Gulf and southeast Europe as well as the ISAF mission in Afghanistan were the topics of a long and cordial conversation between the Croatian Minister of Defence Davor Bozinovic and heir to the throne Prince of Abu Dhabi, General Sheik Mohammed bin Zayed All Nahyan, who is also deputy supreme commander of the armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates.

Minister Bozinovic emphasized the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries, the Croatian membership in NATO and European Union, and mutual participation in the ISAF mission, as good basis for strengthening relations between Croatia and United Arab Emirates.

Prince Mohammed bin Zayed accepted the invitation of Minister Bozinovic to visit the Croatian pavilion at the military industry fair IDEX. Representatives of the Croatian pavilion companies Duro Dakovic - Special vehicles, Šestan Busch, Inkop, DOK-ING, Kroko and HS Produkt had the opportunity to present their products. The Prince Regent has confirmed interest in the products of the Croatian military industry and opened up possibilities for Croatian companies to directly negotiate with partners in the United Arab Emirates. Minister Božinović had separate talks with Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates General Hamad M. Al Thani Romathijem about ISAF and possible bilateral cooperation between Croatia and UAE, with emphasis on the role of Croatia in the training of the Afghan army.

They discussed the possibilities of cooperation in terms of training of special forces and equipping members of the UAE Armed Forces with the Croatian military gear.

He also said that in the future a delegation of the UAE Armed Forces will be sent to Croatia to discuss the proposed mutual defense and military cooperation with an emphasis on defense industry cooperation.
