The Croatian Government adopted the decision on temporary suspension of the visa regime for citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation and Ukraine.The suspension will be applied from 1 April to 31 October 2010. Visas will not be required for the valid passport holders and for a short stay up to 90 days that is for a transit through the territory of Croatia.
The decision has been made regarding an easier temporary entry of foreigners into the Republic of Croatia, on the basis of valid Schengen residence permits and visas, for the purpose of tourist visits to Croatia.
As a measure of liberalization of Croatian visa regime in order to facilitate the entry of foreign tourists in Croatia in 2010, temporarily the visas will not be required for certain categories of foreigners, as follows: foreigners who have a valid Schengen residence permit, foreigners who come on cruise ships, if they have a valid Schengen visa, the citizens of the Republic of India and the People's Republic of China who are visiting Croatia as an organized tour group, if they have a valid Schengen visa, citizens of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates, if they have a valid Schengen visa.
A similar measure had also been passed before the last year's tourist season for citizens of certain countries, which resulted in an increased number of tourists from these countries.
