British Days: Celebration of Scottish poet

This  year's British Days were concluded by the celebration of the 252nd birthday of  Scottish national poet Robert Burns in Zagreb, on February 12. During this day the bagpipers played dressed in traditional Scottish tartan kilts, and curling school (the national sport on ice) was organized on the central square.

In the evening the Burns' Night Dinner took place at Zagreb's Regent Esplanade Hotel, organized by British Embassy and Caledonian Club of Croatia.

This celebration of life and work of Scotland's greatest poet, Robbie Burns, became a very popular social event. Guests enjoy haggis, a dram or two of whisky and Scottish music and dancing. For the third time H.E. Mr. David Blunt gave dance classes of Scottish country dancing.

British ambassador, highlander from Aberdeenshire proudly wore kilt and accompanied bagpipers during Saturday's events in Zagreb.
