The first Best in Customer Service Award has been presented to Croatian companies for 2009, and the winners are: Avon Cosmetics, Colliers International, DHL International, Hotel Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik, International Kindergarten Horizons, PBZ Card, Pliva Croatia and Raiffeisen Bank.
The purpose of the award is to promote excellence, best practices, leadership and innovation. Organizations compete against one another and are evaluated against five criteria: service leadership, service culture, service positioning, service relationship marketing and service recovery. To identify the winning organizations, the award program uses similar methodology as other international programs, such as, the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, in the United States and, the EFQM, in Europe. The BICSA is a national competition developed by Vita communications, customer service and marketing management company, together with its program partners - American College of Management & Technology and American Chamber of Commerce in Croatia.
'Services make up 60% of Croatian GDP'
The awards have been presented at the ceremony held at Sheraton Hotel in Zagreb, March 4. Introductory speeches were given by Don Hudspeth, President of the Advisory Board of Best in Customer Service Award and President and Dean of the American College of management and technology in Dubrovnik, as well as Damir Kuštrak, President of the Croatian Employers' Association and Executive Vice President of the largest Croatian company Agrokor. Mr. Kuštrak stressed the great importance of this system of awarding and recognition of quality in services because services make up 60% of Croatian GDP.
Company Vita Communications has been established by two Croatian business woman who grew up, went to school and worked in Toronto, Canada: Jela Begonja and Nikolina Marušić.
