300 most powerful women in Croatia

A list of 300 most powerful women in Croatian business will be presented on conference: "Women in Business 2011", on 8th December in Zagreb, organized by business weekly magazine Lider This conference will highlight successful experiences, gather and connect business women from the region to motivate them to new ventures and also help increase the representation of women in top positions. Despite numerous examples of women who are successfully managing the worlds biggest companies, their share in total, high and senior management pretty modest.

The meeting will mark the presentation of the Lider's traditional list of 300 most powerful women in Croatian business, which is published seven times. Last year first on the list was lLjerka Puljić, Senior Executive Vice President of Agrokor, second was Snježana Pauk, a Member of HEP Management Board, and Nevenka Becic, CEO Kerum.

The conference will bring together owners, principals and managers of companies in the region whose experience and views show that women have been unfairly neglected in senior positions in most companies.

According to research house AT Kearney women occupy 15 percent of managerial positions in companies among the Fortune 500. According to HANFA annual report on corporate governance, even 128 issuers in the Zagreb Stock Exchange in 2010. And 126 of them in 2009 had no women in management.
